IDOT Road Work Halt May Cause Project to be Delayed.

The Village of Glenview was officially notified Thursday that the Illinois Department of Transportation has directed all contractors and consultants working on road projects funded by the State of Illinois or for which federal funds pass through the State of Illinois to cease operations after Thursday, June 30. The directive comes in response to the absence of a state budget, without which IDOT has stated it lacks the appropriation authority to incur additional spending.

This action means ongoing projects would be safely shut down and no new work would commence. This would impact three federally-funded projects in the Village of Glenview-- for which IDOT has contracted for construction directly with a contractor -- that had been scheduled to start July 5, which includes the Glen Street Resurfacing project.
